The docks of hope

As in every city with a big harbor we have the docks of hope where people intend to restore old floating vessels. Some succed some do not, but for all the hope still lingers.

BRIS 1

A long, long time ago a man called Sven Lundin set out to build a small sailing boat in the basement of his parents hous. As he had to be able to get it out throught the basement entrance he kept it really small and made it in two halves. This was an achivment in itself. He then set sail and sailed it AROUND THE WORLD! He even stopped and worked as a teacher on Tristan da Cuna for some time (the most isolated island on the whole planet) He actually came back to Göteborg and started building BRIS 2, a slightly bigger vessel, and sailed that for some time. Imagine my surprice when I found BRIS 1 in a roadcrossing just outside of Lysekil today. The mysterious ways history moves. New lightning of the Eriksberg dock

Tonight was the presentation of the new night lightning of the old/new dock at Eriksberg, will be a very nice sight in the dark nights

Design weekend

last weekend in feb and we made time to visit the design museum Röhska in Göteborg

New homeoffice

After a couple of days work the new homeoffice is more or less finished. New color on the walls, a new Hollowood desk, new sidedesks, new lightning and a new couboard, and finally a newly dressed manequin in a genuine 1920 dress

A Winter walk on St Valentines day

Saturday 14:the of february and we took a nother nice walk around town. Also this time in a blazing sunshine but a bit colder and crisper, there is still some ice on the river

The Göteborg boat exhibition 2009

Beginning of february is the time for the yearly boatexhibition in Göteborg and the start of the spring. Today also a blazing sun but zero temerature. Took our nabour to look for a boat as the have a jetty but nothing to ancor there. A very nice but short visit due to a very heavy cold on my part.
