Another wiev of Göteborg

Last day of the easter weekend and we made another long walk ending up at Trädgårdsföreningen, the garden park in the town centre. Funny how differen the town looks from this end. Ther was also an exhibitioin of christmas roses.

one of these amazing moments when easter turns out to be like midsummer and we had lunch by the sea and spent the days in shorts and T-shirts, cutting grass and painting the house. A weekend to remember

April 1:st(not april fools)

The warmest day of the year so far with highest temerature in Göteborg 14.5C. Srange experiance during lunch driving through nowhereland and a really nice late afternoon playing the first round of golf with the guys from EMCO, beat some lost to some but an amazing evening

Swedish Idol

Today were the trials for this years Swedish Idol with the first audition in Göteborg. A huge numbre of young people gathered at Eriksberg to get the chance. Some of them started queing last night. Will be fun to watch on TV in the autumn.

First day of spring 2009

The first really nice spring day this year, sunshine and blu skies and teperaures close to 10 degrees

The photoes are of the Uddevalla Bridge, taken through the front carwindow. Tables and chairs are out and I had my first coffe on the veranda.

The docks of hope

As in every city with a big harbor we have the docks of hope where people intend to restore old floating vessels. Some succed some do not, but for all the hope still lingers.

BRIS 1

A long, long time ago a man called Sven Lundin set out to build a small sailing boat in the basement of his parents hous. As he had to be able to get it out throught the basement entrance he kept it really small and made it in two halves. This was an achivment in itself. He then set sail and sailed it AROUND THE WORLD! He even stopped and worked as a teacher on Tristan da Cuna for some time (the most isolated island on the whole planet) He actually came back to Göteborg and started building BRIS 2, a slightly bigger vessel, and sailed that for some time. Imagine my surprice when I found BRIS 1 in a roadcrossing just outside of Lysekil today. The mysterious ways history moves.
